I guess I'm just a rebel without a cause..

There are a lot of words I can think of that can describe my genius idea last night: foolish, untimely, ignorant, unprepared... You get the point. But the best one would have to be reckless. One of my good friends is marrying my past roommate this week (yep, I set them up!) and we decided to have a little bonding time before the big day. Typically when we hangout it could be considered a guys night and Adam can do or accomplish things that most girls wouldn't want to participate in. Maybe this is flaw of mine or maybe it makes me rad, but most of the time I'm the one suggesting the ideas of activities and meals. My big idea for last night....
CRUISIN' DOWN PROVO CANYON ON OUR LONG BOARDS
(at night)

This potentially could've been one of my best ideas considering my board was not a piece of crap, we had something to light the pathway with, I had done it before, and I had stepped foot on my board sometime in the past 3 months. But alas, it's me and none of these things occurred before we started.

So we get to the top and got started down the very steep beginning. My board can barely turn let alone carve so there was zero speed control. Here is what I saw in the pitch black night..

I realized as I was bombing down the mountain that I had made "A huge mistake" (said like Gob Bluth). I started to try and turn on this scary bend when two other guys went past me and forced me into that tree depicted above. The next 1.5 seconds looked like this:

I tried to bail as best as possible but I was literally flying down the road. After crashing into the tree and some pointy rocks I got up, laughed, and started to look for my board in the bushes. Luckily Adam came to check on me and let me use his head lamp for the rest of the way. I continued several times during our adventure to break the land speed record while on my board. Adam also traded modes of transport with me so I could carve and try to control myself.
At the bottom of the canyon we surveyed my minor scrapes and bruises and I laughed my head off. That was one of the scariest things I had done (considering I can't see at night and I was barreling down a hill on a ridiculous piece of plywood). We also realized that I left my keys in the other car so there was no way of getting back to where we started. Luckily, a friend rescued us before the rainstorm and we got out of there okay.

I realized a couple things about myself last night:
-I'm not super good at planning things out in my head
-I'm reckless
-I'm blind at night
-I don't care about things as much as I should because nothing can stop me from laughing hysterically in the worst situations.
-I think I'm okay with all of my previous self observations.

Today, I'm alive and somewhat well but my legs are swollen and bruised from biffing it. At least it makes for a good story and some laughs. My life is ridiculous and awesome...you may even say ridiculously awesome.
